Nancy O'Dell's career began in Myrtle Beach South Carolina as an anchor and news reporter with WPDE-TV. O'Dell later became morning news anchor on WCBD TV and was an investigative reporter. In Charleston O'Dell's reports regarding the police's lenient approach to DUI cases resulted in a State Law Enforcement Division investigation which resulted in the states authorities again releasing the strictest guidelines regarding DUI cases. According to the Associated Press awarded Ms. O'Dell with an award for the Best Report of the year award for all South Carolina media. Her work in Charleston was the reason she joined as a co-anchor, reporter and anchor for NBC's Miami WTVJ-TV. Prior to becoming a part of Access Hollywood she was a weekday co-anchor as well as the weekend anchor for NBC. Alongside her role as anchor for Access Hollywood Ms. O'Dell is also an anchor for NBC News' Today and as well to Dateline NBC. She covered events such as The Oscars, The Emmys, The Grammys, and The Golden Globe Awards. In addition to co-hosting Pre-ShowArrivals in preparation for The Emmys & The Golden Globes. In addition, she hosted the Miss USA pageant and the Miss Universe pageant.
