When she moved to Minnesota and appearing in an undocumentary-style film called Drop Dead Gorgeous (1998) which focused on beauty contests. After her screen debut that was successful, in which she played an unfriendly, but obnoxious contestant, Janet relocating into Los Angeles where she began a professional acting career.
